It started with a few people who didn’t really know how to sew
There were a few of us—one into design, one good with tech, someone from media, and another who, somehow, was weirdly great at folding things just right. Nobody here trained in fashion. No one came from a garment factory. At first, we printed a few shirts for fun. Gifts for friends. Then someone said, “Hey, can I get one too?” Then another. And someone else said, “You should sell these.”
So Heneun tried. We weren’t sure what it would turn into—still aren’t, to be honest—but it felt right. Like, there are people out there who want a shirt that feels like them, not just another thing pulled from a warehouse.
So we kept going.
What kind of setup is this? Honestly, pretty straightforward
No online marketplaces. No third-party anything. Just Heneun, this website, and the shelves in our little workspace. Heneun orders fabric directly (after spending way too long comparing swatches), cuts and sews the shirts here, prints them here, folds them (sometimes twice if the first fold wasn’t great), then puts them aside—waiting for you.
When you place an order, no factories are notified. Someone here walks over, pulls that shirt off the shelf, gives it one last look, packs it, sticks the label on, and hands it off for shipping. That’s it.
Sometimes it’s quick. Sometimes someone rewrites your name on the label because they smudged it. (yes, it happens)
What Heneun makes
Two things mostly:
Ready-to-go shirts – Designed and printed in advance. The ones we like. The ones that came from random midnight sketch ideas or a passing phrase someone said that stuck with us. We make a small batch, store them, and they’re ready to ship.
Custom shirts – You want your own thing? Your dog’s face? A lyric? Something off-center, low-key, or loud? We’re open to it. As long as it fits on the fabric and makes sense to print, we’ll figure it out.
Every custom order is its own situation. That’s what makes it fun. (also tricky sometimes, but still fun)
How Heneun handles production
It starts with fabric. Heneun gets cotton from Fabric Wholesale Direct—they’re based in New York and specialize in natural, breathable cotton. For fleece, we often use Big Duck Canvas in Georgia. Their heavy brushed fleece works great for winter pieces and holds print detail really well.
Everything gets delivered straight to our workspace at 323 S Main St, Ithaca, MI 48847, United States. We don’t just store it—we unroll it, stretch it, feel it. If it doesn’t pass the “would I wear this?” test, it doesn’t go into production.
Then it’s cut and sewn. Right here. Same place. We don’t send anything out to be finished somewhere else. After sewing, shirts are printed in-house, inspected, folded, and stored.
Before shipping, we check each piece again. If there’s a loose thread or something’s off with the print (yes, we’ve seen it), we fix it—or pull it entirely.
Orders ship from 323 S Main St, Ithaca, MI 48847, United States, via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Tracking is sent to your email. Someone from Heneun watches the delivery, just to be sure. We use USPS, UPS, or FedEx depending on where you live and what’s available. You’ll get a tracking number via email, and if anything weird happens—package goes off-route, delivery’s delayed—someone from Heneun will actually check.
The team? Small. Flexible. Real.
Heneun doesn’t have departments. We’re not assigning tickets to different teams. It’s just us—each doing what we can, wearing multiple hats. Literally and figuratively.

And that designer? Yeah, they’re also the one who updated the homepage last week
We work like that. A bit messy. A bit overlapping. But it works—for now.
